ACTIVITIES OF OUR MEMBERS

Mrs. Akiko Takahashi�fs students made 17 arrangements for the exhibition of Artist's Alliance Northwest, which was held at the Japanese Garden from May 21 to June 1. Participants included Mrs. Takahashi herself, Amy Freeman, Marylou Colver, and Nana Bellerud.

Sixteen members of the Sogetsu School, Portland Branch, created arrangements and did demonstratons for the Oregon Potters Association "Ceramic Showcase" at the Oregon Convention Center in April 2008.

In August, Sogetsu members Nina Davis, Hideko Hearn, Don Davidson, and Carol Corn did flower arrangements for the art museum tokonoma. Keiko Kodachi and Don Davidson, assisted by Hideko Hearn and Harriet Riffel, did a demonstration with water lilies and lotus for the Hughes Water Garden Festival on July 26. They explained and showed how to use these unusual flowers in ikebana. Hughes Water Garden is a retail nursery in Tualatin.
