Mrs. Keiko Kodachi began teaching Sogetsu Ikebana to the public in Portland, Oregon. The first annual Sogetsu Rose
Exhibition was officially sanctioned as Portland Rose Festival event, and
remains the only Japanese cultural event affiliated with the Portland Rose
Festival. Annually, the 3-day event, held at the pavilion at the Japanese
Garden, attracts over 3,000 visitors. The Portland Sogetsu group was officially approved by Iemoto Hiroshi Teshigahara of Sogetsu Headquaters in Tokyo, Japan. |
